I always carry a small “classic” knife. But when on an airplane, that is impossible. The closest useful substitute is this card with the blade left home. It still has the scissors, toothpick, and tweezers which are very useful.

Exactly as described. A great item for pocket or purse. The only improvement would be to get the model with the LED light.

The Swiss Card is only useful if you need something to fit in a wallet. For a few dollars more, the Leatherman Micra has a much superior scissors, a better nail file, more screwdriver options, an easier-to-handle knife, and a bottle opener. The Leatherman Squirt is even better, and not that much more.

The SwissCard isn’t perfect, but overall it’s a great gadget to have around. I also have a tiny leatherman, which is fine, and certainly beefier – it depends on how minimalist you want to get.

The SwissCard is really handy in size, it will fit anywhere a credit card would. I use mine primarily in my knitting bag (yes, the knitting bag gets a lot of use). Everyone comments on it, and for several years I’ve used it frequently. The scissors have stayed sharp, as has the knife. The pen is the size of a skinny ball point pen refill and 3 inches long, which is not great for correspondence but when you need a pen it works just great. The tweezers are standard Swiss Army Knife tweezers, as is the toothpick. The nailfile is handy and sturdy enough to actually use. There is also a straight pin. I suppose it could be handy, if for no other reason than to reset a clock or eject a stuck CD.

I really like this tool, but I got it as swag (for free). 90% of the use for me is the scissors. Still – for the knitter or crocheter it’s a nice gift. I find it to be plenty sturdy. (If your knitter or crocheter is also a fix-it person, you might think about moving up to a swiss army knife though – get the one with a corkscrew).

I use this every day, and keep it in my pocket, except when traveling. It has kept in perfect condition for over a year. The scissors are perfect for needlework, as are the 2 mini-rulers. The tweezers can even be used for lacemaking, even though they are flat-headed. The knife is *very* sharp and stays that way.

The plastic door for the scissors is set in a groove, and would be difficult to break off, and the pen is too small to wield properly, but works in a pinch.
